Crock Pot Swiss Steak

This is a great, easy meal I like to fix on the days I have to go to work.  Just get it ready in the morning, leave and come back to a delicious home cooked meal.  Your family will think you are quite the domestic goddess while you were really working or shopping all day.

Crock Pot Swiss Steak

Round steak cut into 4 or 5 pieces
3 tablespoons crisco
1/2 cup flour
4 cups water (hot)
4 beef boullon cubes
1/2 teaspoon Kitchen Bouquet
salt & pepper to taste

Heat crisco in skillet and brown the meat.  After meat is brown, removed from skillet and place in a crock pot.  Use approximately 3 tablespoons of the "drippings" in the skillet to make a gravy.  Mix drippings and 1/2 cup of flour.  Add one cup of water at a time and stir well.  Add beef boulion cubes and Kitchen Bouquet, salt and pepper to taste.  Stir until thickened.  Pour the gravy over the meat in the crock pot.  Let cook for around 6 hours on high.   You may have to turn the crock pot down to low after 5 hours.

I will be adding new recipes each week.  Enjoy!  Hope to hear about your success.
